Date: 2026, October 16-30
My name is Annamaria Bartha, and the Leende Land “concept” has followed me since my teenage years, after the early death of my father, reminding me that there is indeed good in life. I envisioned both the theme and the structure of the exhibition in this spirit.
At first, the condition of the venue frightened me, but the following dawn I woke up to the realization that the worn state of the rooms was perfect. It is perfectly in harmony with, and at the same time further strengthens, my vision: Be Aware, You’re the Change! & Prints of Life.

THEME
& PRINTS OF LIFE
In the first space, the visual story begins with an early self-portrait from the initial stage of my artistic life. From there, moving forward, you can get to know me as an artist through surreal prints of my desires and dreams. These are followed by more humorous, life-inspired prints, which were also created later in time.

From here, visitors can open the door into the room built around the theme:
Be Aware, You’re the Change!
This interactive space is about the consequences of our actions. Two of my works presented here stand alongside a cause in its early stages, while another artwork celebrates the successful outcome of that cause. (Life Matters, Life Wins.) This is the space that goes beyond the problem and draws attention to the significance of our actions, because you are the change. Every minute of your life carries the moment of change.

Two energies came together in the creation of this space: one is a tireless and determined force that, through its work, has been drawing attention for years to serious issues affecting our society.
The other is the artist who, as a child, decided that she wanted to help orphaned children in Africa — and achieved this life goal at a very early age though in differnet country. The artist who opened her door to a child from a family affected by the floods in Transcarpathia and temporarily welcomed the child into her family home. The artist who collected warm blankets for homeless people through numerous harsh winter seasons, and, to her great relief, the wonderful team of Budapest Bike Maffia was eventually formed who are group of civils helping homless people survive.

For this space, I envisioned an interactive composition that goes beyond the artworks on display, where visitors can get to know the heroes of everyday life, further reinforcing the idea:
You are the change, because you matter.

The images displayed on the building’s facade will be on view for a full year, through July 2027.
